How precisely are bones carved? What tools are used and what exactly is made out of them? An amazing number of products were made out of bones in antiquity: Door and cabinet fittings were very frequently made of bone, as were the handles of knives and swords. Of course, a lot of jewelry was also created out of this material as well. This presentation talks about these matters and about many other uses for bone.
